Job Description

Nestled in the vibrant heart of New York City, The Ned NoMad stands as a sophisticated members' club and hotel offering an unparalleled hospitality experience. As the first international outpost of The Ned, which originally launched in London in 2017, The Ned NoMad opened its doors in the summer of 2022, bringing a fresh yet distinctly elegant vibe to the iconic Johnston Building, a historic landmark originally built in 1903 and formerly home to the NoMad Hotel. The establishment seamlessly blends the character and charm of this historic structure with contemporary design elements, thanks to the expert touch of the Soho House Design team. This fusion creates an inviting and stylish atmosphere that appeals to a discerning clientele seeking luxury, comfort, and exclusivity.

The Ned NoMad is more than just a hotel; it is a thriving social hub where members and guests come together to enjoy a multitude of exceptional amenities, including fine dining, bars, event spaces, and cultural programming. The environment is dynamic, fast-paced, and filled with opportunities for team members to grow and develop professionally. Currently, The Ned NoMad is looking to expand its team by recruiting a Barback, a crucial role designed to support the bar operation and ensure a seamless and memorable guest experience.

The Barback at The Ned NoMad will report directly to the General Manager and play a key role in maintaining the high standards of service and operational excellence that the property is known for. This position requires an individual who can thrive in a fast-moving business, demonstrating autonomy and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. A core part of the role is working collaboratively with peers across different departments, fostering a culture of open communication, support, and attention to detail.

Day-to-day, the Barback will be responsible for replenishing supplies at the bar, assisting bartenders with cleaning and stocking, and maintaining cleanliness throughout bar areas and liquor storage spaces. The successful candidate will be customer-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of creating a unique, fun, and memorable experience for every patron encountered. This position is full-time with a competitive hourly wage of $17.00, promising not only a supportive work environment but also multiple opportunities for career advancement and skill development within an internationally respected organization.

Joining The Ned NoMad as a Barback means becoming part of an inclusive, diverse workplace that values the contributions and perspectives of all employees. The organization's commitment to equal opportunity fosters a welcoming culture where team members can thrive and enjoy various benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for international career growth. Potential candidates who are authorized to live and work in the United States are encouraged to apply and become part of a brand that is redefining the luxury hospitality landscape in New York City.
