The Seasonal Full-Time Bar Back position at Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe plays a vital role in supporting the bar team and ensuring the smooth operation of the bar throughout busy service periods. As a Bar Back, you will assist bartenders by restocking liquor, beer, wine, and cocktail supplies, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar area, and supporting the team with detailed beverage knowledge. The role demands physical stamina as it involves handling heavy items like kegs and boxes safely and efficiently.

In addition to supporting bartenders, the Bar Back will have opportunities to engage with guests directly, greeting and assisting them, seating guests in the absence of the hostess, and promptly responding to guest needs or concerns. Proficiency with the Micros POS system is required for processing orders and transactions when necessary. The role requires strict adherence to Four Seasons' high standards for quality, service, and safety, including compliance with New Mexico's alcohol laws and health codes.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in bar back, bar server, or related hospitality role
  • Current New Mexico Alcohol Server Certification
  • Food Handler Certification
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • US work authorization or status as a current Four Seasons manager

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in bar back, bar server, or related hospitality role, preferably in a high-end or luxury setting
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage, including cocktails, beers, and wines
  • Current New Mexico Alcohol Server Certification
  • Food Handler Certification
  • Excellent personal presentation and communication skills
  • Outgoing, compassionate, and a natural team player
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • US work authorization required unless currently holding a managerial role within Four Seasons

Job Duties

  • Assist bartenders by restocking liquor, beer, wine, and cocktail supplies to maintain efficient service during busy periods
  • Prepare garnishes, refill ice bins, and maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area throughout shifts
  • Handle the physical demands of carrying kegs, boxes, and other heavy items safely and efficiently
  • Use your knowledge of beverages to support the team with detailed ingredient information and help enhance the guest experience
  • Operate the Micros POS system for processing orders and transactions when required
  • Greet and assist guests by seating them in the absence of the hostess and respond promptly to guest needs or concerns
  • Collaborate closely with bartenders and service staff to anticipate guest requests and ensure smooth, timely service
  • Uphold all Four Seasons standards of quality, service, and safety, including adherence to New Mexico alcohol laws and health codes
