The Seasonal Full-Time Bar Back role at Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about the hospitality industry and eager to be part of a luxury service team. As a Bar Back, you will play an integral role in supporting bartenders and enhancing the overall guest experience by maintaining the operational flow of the bar area. This includes restocking beverages such as liquor, beer, wine, and cocktail supplies; preparing garnishes; keeping the bar clean and organized; and assisting with guest seating when necessary. Your efforts help create a seamless and memorable service atmosphere that aligns with Four Seasons’ high standards of quality and guest care.

This role demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset. You will engage with guests courteously, respond promptly to their needs, and assist the team in maintaining adherence to New Mexico’s alcohol laws and health standards. Additionally, expertise in beverage knowledge, including cocktails, beers, and wines, will support your ability to contribute meaningfully to the guest experience. Familiarity with operational tools such as the Micros POS system will further enhance your capacity to aid in order processing and transactions.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in bar back, bar server, or related hospitality role
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage
  • Current New Mexico Alcohol Server Certification and Food Handler Certification
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Excellent personal presentation and communication skills
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • US work authorization required unless currently holding a managerial role within Four Seasons

Job Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage, including cocktails, beers, and wines

  • Excellent personal presentation and communication skills
  • Outgoing, compassionate, and a natural team player
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • US work authorization required unless currently holding a managerial role within Four Seasons

Job Duties

  • Assist bartenders by restocking liquor, beer, wine, and cocktail supplies to maintain efficient service during busy periods
  • Prepare garnishes, refill ice bins, and maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area throughout shifts
  • Handle the physical demands of carrying kegs, boxes, and other heavy items safely and efficiently
  • Use your knowledge of beverages to support the team with detailed ingredient information and help enhance the guest experience
  • Operate the Micros POS system for processing orders and transactions when required
  • Greet and assist guests by seating them in the absence of the hostess and respond promptly to guest needs or concerns
  • Collaborate closely with bartenders and service staff to anticipate guest requests and ensure smooth, timely service
  • Uphold all Four Seasons standards of quality, service, and safety, including adherence to New Mexico alcohol laws and health codes
