Clyde’s Restaurant Group has been a leading force in the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia) restaurant scene since 1963, with a well-established reputation for providing exceptional guest service, maintaining a positive employee culture, and operating 14 diverse dining concepts across the region. Among these concepts are prominent venues like Clyde's, Old Ebbitt Grill, The Hamilton, 1789 Restaurant, Fitzgerald's, The Tombs, Cordelia Fishbar, Hamilton Live, and the soon-to-open Ebbitt House in Spring 2026. Rye Street Tavern benefits from its accessible location, reachable by car and various public transportation options including the Charm City Circulator and local MTA bus routes, making it convenient for both employees and guests.
The Barback position at Rye Street Tavern offers a competitive pay range of $700 to $1000 per week, alongside flexible scheduling including part-time, full-time, and on-call shifts. This role appeals to those looking for a positive work environment with excellent professional growth and training opportunities. Joining Clyde's means becoming part of a stable and respected company that values courtesy, dignity, and respect within its work culture. Employees enjoy comprehensive training programs delivered both in the classroom and on-premises, ensuring that team members are well-prepared and supported in their roles.
As a Barback, you will be integral to maintaining the bar's smooth operation by assisting bartenders in beverage preparation, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring a clean and organized bar area. This role demands a hardworking and hospitality-driven individual with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating exceptional service for the guests. A flexible schedule is essential, as work hours may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and weekdays. Previous experience in bars or restaurants is valued but not mandatory, with strong emphasis placed on a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
The company offers generous employee benefits including immediate participation in a competitive 401k plan, restaurant discounts at all Clyde’s locations, meal discounts, and access to top-tier health plans covering medical, dental, vision, telemedicine, and wellness resources. Employees also benefit from an Employee Assistance Program providing legal, emotional, and financial support, as well as digital cognitive behavioral therapy and wellness initiatives like annual flu shots. Additionally, employees have access to financial assistance funds, merit recognition programs, career growth opportunities, and exclusive discounts on thousands of brands and services.
This role is perfect for anyone committed to excellence in hospitality and eager to build a rewarding career within a renowned restaurant group. Candidates from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply, as diversity and inclusion are core values for the company. The Clyde's Restaurant Group participates in E-Verify to ensure compliance with federal employment laws and supports applicants requiring accommodations during the hiring process.
