Èlephante Santa Monica is a renowned high-energy, high-volume coastal restaurant and lounge located in the heart of Santa Monica, California. We are currently seeking a hardworking and proactive Barback to join our dedicated bar team. The Barback will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of the bar during service, assisting bartenders with restocking supplies, preparing garnishes, and ensuring overall cleanliness and organization. Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to lift 50 lbs
  • flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • current or ability to obtain Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness certifications

Job Duties

  • Support bartenders during service by restocking spirits, beer, wine, ice, garnishes, glassware, and supplies
  • maintain bar cleanliness, sanitation, and organization at all times
  • assist with prep tasks including juicing, batching cocktails, cutting garnishes, and stocking mixers
  • ensure all bar stations are fully set up before service and properly broken down at the end of the shift
  • remove trash, bar mats, and empty glassware throughout service
  • follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
  • communicate effectively with bartenders, servers, and management
  • provide excellent internal guest service by supporting the bar team's needs
