The establishment is currently seeking experienced bartenders to join its dynamic team. This employment opportunity is ideal for candidates who already reside in Oahu or elsewhere in Hawaii and possess a minimum of three years of bar experience, preferably within the local hospitality industry. As an integral member of the Mekiko Cantina team, the bartender plays a critical role in crafting an exceptional guest experience, not only by underlining the quality and authenticity of each beverage but also by creating a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. Job Requirements
- Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol
- Currently resides in Oahu or Hawaii preferably
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Effective oral and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow directions and detailed instructions
- Dependable and reliable
- Flexible with working shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma desired
- Three or more years of bar experience
- Knowledge of food safety and quality standards
- Experience in handling cash and transaction systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop new cocktail recipes
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members
Job Duties
- Welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders
- Inform customers about new beverages and specials
- Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers
- Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol
- Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked
- Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations
- Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate, and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register
- Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment
- Developing new cocktail recipes
- Regular attendance is essential for satisfactory performance in this position
- Supports and works productively with peers in other areas
- Performs housekeeping and other related duties as required
- Any other tasks assigned by management
