Sports & Social Allentown is a vibrant sports bar and social lounge situated in the heart of downtown Allentown. Spanning an impressive 10,000 square feet, this venue is designed to create the ultimate fan experience with numerous TV screens equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology. A striking LED display allows guests to watch multiple games and sporting events simultaneously, making it one of the premier spots for sports enthusiasts in the region. The establishment prides itself on offering a meticulously crafted dining and beverage experience featuring made-from-scratch menu items and a selection of curated cocktails. To complement the sports viewing experience, Sports & Social Allentown hosts live music and special events multiple times a week, appealing to a diverse crowd. Additionally, the lounge offers a variety of interactive social games designed to foster engagement and entertainment for all guests.
The Barback role at Sports & Social Allentown is integral to maintaining the high standards of service and operation expected at such a dynamic venue. It is a position well-suited for energetic and outgoing individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment while upholding professionalism. The Barback supports the bartending team by performing essential prep work behind the bar, including tasks like refilling ice bins, restocking beer and liquor supplies, and preparing garnishes. Physical tasks include changing kegs in the keg room, which requires moving heavy items safely and efficiently. The Barback also contributes to the cleanliness and organization of the bar area, promptly cleaning spills and emptying trash cans to maintain a tidy environment.
Critical to this role is the ability to multitask and offer polite, professional, and courteous customer service. Effective communication is essential—whether interacting with guests, coworkers, or supervisors. This position also demands responsibility in completing all assigned side work promptly, which supports the overall smooth operation of the bar. As Social & Sports Allentown operates in the hospitality and entertainment industry, the Barback must be flexible and available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet business demands while delivering exceptional service.

Job Requirements
- Handling, carrying or lifting items weighing up to 200 pounds (kegs, ice, glasses, trays, etc.)
- move about the facility efficiently and safely
- handling food, objects, products and utensils effectively and safely
- bending, standing, stooping, kneeling
- withstand potential climate temperature changes in assigned work area
Job Qualifications
- Food service experience with general knowledge of bar/nightclub operations
- must speak fluent English, other languages preferred
- must be at least age 18 or older, depending on state regulations
- communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, cooks, wait staff, and supervisors
- alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency
- reading and writing abilities are utilized often when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc.
- mathematical skills, including basic math are used frequently
- may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
Job Duties
- Show that you are an energetic, outgoing, fun person while maintaining professionalism
- perform basic prep work behind the bar: refilling ice bins, restocking beer/liquor, cutting garnishes
- change empty kegs in keg room, including moving full kegs of beer
- assist in maintaining a clean and tidy environment by cleaning up spills and emptying trash cans
- organize bar and drink ware
- clear and clean bar in a timely manner
- perform more than one task at a time
- offer polite, professional, and courteous customer service
- communicate effectively, clearly, patiently and humorously with co-workers and guests
- complete all side work as assigned
