We are currently seeking energetic and dedicated Bar Backs to join our team for the holiday season. This is a part-time position requiring availability for 3-4 days per week. The Bar Back plays a vital supporting role in assisting bartenders to create, prepare, and serve drinks efficiently and accurately. They ensure that all beverages meet the restaurant's high standards and that orders are assembled properly and delivered promptly to guests. The role also involves maintaining an organized and hygienic bar area that complies with food safety and sanitation policies. As a Bar Back at Lawry's, you will embody the restaurant's core values by upholding a professional appearance, practicing responsible alcohol service, and contributing to a positive guest experience through excellent teamwork and service skills.

This role offers an hourly wage of $17.28 and requires individuals who can work well under pressure, follow detailed recipes, and provide support to the bartending team in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will possess at least one year of experience in a similar position at a high-end dining establishment, have relevant food and beverage certifications, and are knowledgeable about wines, cocktails, beers, and spirits. Proficiency with POS systems, basic math skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in English are essential. Reliable transportation and a commitment to adhering to company policies, including safety and workplace standards, are required. Job Requirements

  • must be at least legal age to serve alcohol
  • availability to work 3-4 days a week including weekends and holidays
  • able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift
  • able to carry up to 30 lbs and exert up to 50 lbs of force
  • able to maintain personal hygiene and clean uniform
  • must pass local/state food handler and alcohol service training
  • must have prior bar back experience
  • knowledge of safe work habits especially in knife handling
  • ability to communicate clearly in English
  • good math proficiency
  • willing to work all scheduled shifts
  • adherence to company policies and procedures
  • reliable transportation

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • at least one year of experience as a bar back in a high-end dining establishment
  • current local/state food handler's certification
  • current local/state alcohol beverage service certification
  • knowledge of wines, beers, spirits, and cocktails
  • basic familiarity with POS systems and cash handling
  • good verbal and written English communication skills
  • ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • ability to follow recipes and instructions
  • physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods
  • clean and professional appearance
  • reliable transportation

Job Duties

  • assist bartenders in producing and preparing drinks
  • assemble drinks into appropriate glassware before service
  • maintain organized and hygienic work area
  • follow food safety and sanitation standards
  • ensure compliance with state liquor laws and responsible beverage service
  • manage cash and credit card transactions
  • aid in bar equipment maintenance and stocking
  • provide friendly and professional guest interaction
  • anticipate and manage guests' intoxication levels
  • transfer bar tabs to dining room when appropriate
  • participate in teamwork and support other departments
  • attend mandatory training and meetings
  • report damaged equipment and unsafe conditions promptly
