Job Description

Pacific Hospitality Group is a distinguished hospitality company recognized for its owner/operator approach that offers unique value to both investors and team members. As a family-focused business, the company is deeply committed to long-term holds that facilitate sustainable growth and the development of its team members. Their core vision revolves around enriching people’s lives by providing memorable experiences, giving back to their communities, and honoring God in all their endeavors. Rooted in guiding principles such as integrity, compliance, value creation, customer focus, humility, respect, and fulfillment, Pacific Hospitality Group promotes a culture that fosters principled entrepreneurship and continuous knowledge enhancement.

The position available within Pacific Hospitality Group is that of a Food Server specializing in banquet and event services. This role offers a starting wage of $5 plus tips and is essential in delivering exceptional food service to guests during regular events, special functions, catered occasions, and any other property-hosted events as scheduled. The Food Server acts as a vital link between the kitchen staff and guests, ensuring efficient, courteous, and timely service according to established procedures and service standards.

In this role, the server is responsible for maintaining a professional demeanor while consistently observing guests’ needs, promptly fulfilling additional requests, and anticipating requirements to elevate the overall guest experience. The position demands familiarity with food and beverage preparation, service etiquette, and hotel guest relations. In addition to serving food and beverages at assigned stations, the Food Server sets dining tables to established standards, ensures cleanliness and presentability of dinnerware, glassware, flatware, and linens, and completes all pre-shift, running, and post-shift side work.

Health and safety compliance is a critical element of the job. The Food Server is expected to follow all food handling, TIPS alcohol service certification standards, sanitation, and health department guidelines. Wearing non-slip, oil-resistant shoes is mandatory for safety reasons, and strict adherence to OSHA laws is required when using personal protective equipment (PPE). The server is also responsible for reporting safety hazards, defective PPE, and any incidents promptly to management. This role requires strong communication skills to interact with guests and management alike, ensuring that minors and intoxicated individuals are not served alcohol and that any disruptive behavior is reported.

Alongside these practical duties, the Food Server may assist in event setup and teardown, support other servers in clearing and resetting tables, and maintain a clean, organized, safe, and comfortable environment for guests. The physical nature of the job involves frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, handling hot plates and glassware, and working in varying environmental conditions such as extreme heat or cold in kitchen or refrigerated areas. The role demands excellent visual acuity, balance, and the ability to work in confined spaces and under the pressures of a fast-paced hospitality setting.

Pacific Hospitality Group emphasizes equal employment opportunities and prohibits discrimination on any grounds protected by federal, state, or local laws, including race, color, religion, age, sex, disability status, sexual orientation, gender identity, and other protected characteristics. The company fosters an inclusive workplace environment where every team member has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to the shared mission of creating lasting, meaningful experiences for all guests.

Overall, this position is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and service, who wish to join a reputable organization that values integrity, customer satisfaction, and professional growth within the dynamic field of food and beverage service at banquet and event functions.
