The role of Banquet Server in this upscale hotel is critical in delivering top-notch food and beverage service for all banquet functions. As a Banquet Server, you will be the frontline ambassador ensuring that all food and beverage services are executed efficiently, timely, and according to Omni's high standards. You will be responsible for performing all banquet side work as directed by the Banquet Captain or Banquet Managers, ensuring that all service standards are met without compromise. This position requires a strong attention to detail and customer service excellence, as you will be expected to attend to guests' needs throughout the functions and maintain impeccable service etiquette. Additionally, you will assist with the upkeep and organization of banquet equipment and ensure compliance with all liquor liability laws. Pre-meal meetings will be a routine part of your responsibilities to stay informed about event specifications and requirements.
The position demands physical stamina and the ability to carry, set tables, and handle banquet trays while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor. The successful candidate must be familiar with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), banquet checks, and room setups. A minimum of one year of banquet serving experience and previous knowledge of standard table settings and serving etiquette is required. Communication skills are paramount, as you will interact with guests, management, and co-workers both in person and via telephone. Experience with cash handling and the ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations will be essential to the role. The Banquet Server must be able to work cohesively within a team and adapt quickly to changing situations, all while managing stressful environments with calmness and professionalism.
Being actively TABC Certified (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission) is mandatory, reflecting the importance of responsible beverage service in this role. The job also requires flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet the operational needs of the hotel. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a renowned hospitality brand recognized for its commitment to quality, guest satisfaction, and inclusive work culture.
