The role centers around coordinating with group coordinators and hosts before receptions, conducting introductions, and ensuring all banquet preparations are meticulously planned and executed. The candidate will analyze banquet event orders to gather guest information, organize appropriate layouts, schedules, and special guest needs, including buffet setups and food stations. Responsibilities extend to managing and following up on special preparations to guarantee a seamless event experience.

In this role, employees are expected to adhere strictly to Marriott's safety policies and procedures, promptly report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries, and complete all required safety training and certifications. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance in uniform, protecting company property and confidential information, and fostering a respectful and supportive team environment are essential elements of the position. Physical demands include moving, lifting, and positioning objects weighing up to 25 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and performing tasks that require bending, reaching, climbing stairs, and maneuvering through confined or uneven spaces.

The position requires excellent communication skills, including greeting and recognizing guests according to company standards and professionally answering telephone calls. Reasonable additional tasks may be assigned by supervisors. Job Duties

  • Meet with group coordinators or hosts before receptions to conduct introductions and ensure all preparations are agreed upon
  • Read and analyze banquet event orders to gather guest information and determine proper organization and timeline
  • Attend to and strive to fulfill all special banquet event preparations
  • Follow up on special banquet preparations to ensure compliance
  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance in uniform and personal grooming
  • Protect company property and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Support coworkers by treating them with dignity and respect and contribute to achieving common team goals
  • Perform physical tasks such as moving, lifting, transporting, pushing, pulling, and placing items under 25 pounds
  • Greet and acknowledge guests in accordance with company standards and communicate clearly and professionally
  • Answer telephone calls using appropriate etiquette
  • Complete other reasonable work duties as assigned by supervisors
