The Banquet Set-up Staff position at Uniland Hospitality is a crucial role that supports the flawless execution of a variety of events including weddings, corporate meetings, social occasions, and banquets. This part-time, on-call role demands weekend, holiday, early morning, and late evening availability due to the dynamic nature of event scheduling. The role requires flexibility in hours to align with business needs and ensure seamless support of hotel operations. The Banquet Set-up Staff member is responsible for the meticulous preparation of event spaces in accordance with banquet event orders. This includes arranging tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, podiums, and other necessary equipment to meet specific event requirements.

Additionally, this role involves setting up service stations including buffet and beverage tables, ensuring an orderly and aesthetically pleasing environment for guests and staff alike. Coordinating closely with servers, culinary teams, and supervisors, the Banquet Set-up Staff confirms readiness prior to service and is prepared to manage any last-minute changes efficiently. Post-event responsibilities include breaking down event areas, removing used service ware, and returning items to their proper storage or cleaning areas while maintaining cleanliness and organization of all banquet-related spaces. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks such as prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, and safely moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior banquet, hospitality, food and beverage, event setup or related experience preferred
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced, guest service environment preferred
  • Ability to read and follow banquet event orders, room diagrams, setup instructions and supervisor direction
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and adapt to changing event needs
  • Strong teamwork, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to safely handle, move and store banquet equipment, furniture and service items
  • Ability to provide courteous, professional service and interact effectively with guests, coworkers and management
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours based on event schedules
  • Ability to consistently report to work on time and maintain dependable attendance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Ability to read and follow banquet event orders, room diagrams, setup instructions and supervisor direction
  • Knowledge of banquet room setup styles, service flow and event support procedures preferred

  • Ability to provide courteous, professional service and interact effectively with guests, coworkers and management

Job Duties

  • Review banquet event orders and prepare event spaces with required tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, podiums and other equipment based on function specifications
  • Arrange service ware, buffet tables, beverage stations and support areas according to the event plan to promote smooth and efficient service
  • Set up banquet rooms and meeting spaces accurately and on time, ensuring room appearance meets hotel standards and client expectations
  • Coordinate with banquet servers, culinary staff and supervisors to confirm readiness for service and address last-minute setup changes
  • Transport, place and remove chinaware, glassware, silverware, tables, chairs and banquet equipment safely and efficiently
  • Break down event spaces after functions, remove used service ware and equipment, separate linens and return items to designated storage or wash areas
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet rooms, service corridors, storage areas and back-of-house spaces before, during and after events
