Job Description
Magnolia Tribute Portfolio Hotel is a distinguished hotel located in the vibrant heart of Downtown St. Louis. As part of the Tribute Portfolio brand, Magnolia offers a unique blend of stylish accommodations, modern amenities, and exceptional guest experiences. The hotel prides itself on its commitment to high standards of service and attention to detail, catering to both business and leisure travelers. With an atmosphere that combines sophistication and comfort, Magnolia Tribute Portfolio Hotel stands out as a premier destination for events, conferences, and banquets in the St. Louis area. The hotel supports a dynamic and diverse team that is dedicated to creating memorable moments for every guest who walks through its doors.
The Banquet Server role at Magnolia Tribute Portfolio Hotel is crucial in delivering an exceptional dining and event experience for guests. With genuine care and a proactive approach, the Banquet Server is responsible for setting up assigned tables for banquet functions accurately and professionally. This includes ensuring that layout and details strictly adhere to Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) and that guests receive warm and enthusiastic service throughout the function. The role requires serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as food orders to guest tables in a timely and courteous manner.
A Banquet Server at Magnolia Tribute Portfolio must take pride in organization, efficient work ethic, and exemplary customer service skills. Responsibilities include performing pre-function side work as directed by Banquet Captains or Managers, attending to guest needs promptly during events, and adhering to all liquor liability and food handling laws. The position demands attentiveness to detail when preparing tables, carrying trays, and delivering service to exceed expectations. A successful candidate should be a "people person," capable of multitasking effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
The role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in a collaborative team setting and thrive on creating a fun and friendly atmosphere for guests. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as shifts will vary and include weekday evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position requires previous customer service experience, ideally in a food and beverage setting, along with the necessary certifications such as County Specific Food Handlers Certification, State-specific alcohol certification, or TIPs certification. This role is an integral part of the banquet service team, ensuring that each function runs smoothly and guests receive the highest level of hospitality from start to finish.
