Job Description
The Banquet Server role at Cherokee Country Club is a vital position within the Club’s food and beverage team, focused on setting up, executing, and breaking down events in line with the Club’s high standards. Staff in this role receive detailed Event Orders reflecting the instructions from the event host and the Events Director, which they translate into seamless event execution. Tasks vary from assisting in banquet setups like table arrangements, décor, and buffet stations to actively providing food and beverage service during events. Banquet bartenders, part of the same team, manage the assembling, monitoring, and service of alcoholic beverages, documenting consumption and maintaining inventory accuracy. These bartenders also serve as general servers in smaller events where less alcohol service is needed. The houseman team supports the operation by arranging furniture and assisting with room setup. This role demands a strong commitment to teamwork, positive customer interaction, and attention to detail, all aimed at creating memorable event experiences for Club members and guests. Positions are non-tipped, with servers compensated at $15 per hour, and experienced bartenders earning $16 per hour. Full-time employees (working 30 or more hours weekly) enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, medical, and dental insurance, 401K, paid vacation, PTO, employee meals, and employee golf privileges.
Ideal candidates will possess a strong work ethic, punctuality, and dedication to delivering excellent service with a friendly and positive attitude. Previous hospitality or customer service experience is preferred for servers but not mandatory. Candidates must be willing to work on all major holidays important to the Club’s calendar, including Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Easter, and the 4th of July. The Club also has dress code and presentation policies requiring that all tattoos be covered during work hours.
This position involves physical activity such as standing for extended periods, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment. Clear communication skills in English are essential, along with the ability to coordinate tasks in a team-oriented setting. The Banquet Server position is an excellent opportunity for those looking to develop professionally within the hospitality and events industry, who have a passion for service and want to contribute to a premier Club environment.
