At the University of Florida campus, Sodexo offers a dynamic and flexible work environment where employees can thrive and feel valued. The company fosters a culture of respect, inclusion, and belonging, ensuring that each team member is treated fairly and has the opportunity to contribute their unique ideas and perspectives.
The banquet server position at Sodexo offers a fantastic opportunity to be part of a company that values purposeful actions and personal growth. This full-time role is based at the University of Florida campus and pays between $16 and $22 per hour, depending on experience and skills. The position requires flexibility in workdays and shifts, with a preference for candidates who have open availability. As a banquet server, you will be instrumental in delivering excellent food and beverage service to guests attending a wide range of catered events, including meetings, receptions, luncheons, dinners, and special functions. The job entails working under the supervision of the banquet captain and banquet supervisor to ensure smooth event operations from setup through service to breakdown.
In this role, you will support diverse service styles, from casual buffet setups to formal plated meals and passed service, making it a great fit for individuals who enjoy variety and engaging directly with guests. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the cleanliness and organization of tables and service stations, clearing tables efficiently, resetting place settings, and upholding presentation standards throughout the event. Physical stamina is important, as the job requires frequently lifting and moving up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Being punctual and showing regular attendance are also crucial to success in this position.
Sodexo encourages growth and development within its workforce, providing access to ongoing training and advancement opportunities designed to help employees turn their jobs into lasting careers. Alongside competitive pay, the company offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports employees and their families. Benefits include paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, a 401(k) retirement plan, employee discount programs, and more. Some locations may also provide additional site-specific perks such as free or subsidized meals, uniforms, safety shoes, transportation support, and parking allowances.
Joining Sodexo means becoming part of a team that values diversity, equity, and inclusion and is committed to creating a welcoming and supportive workplace for everyone. Regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age, gender identity, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation, military status, or any other protected characteristic, Sodexo provides equal employment opportunities and fosters a respectful environment where employees can be themselves and feel valued.
If you are enthusiastic about delivering exceptional guest service, working in a team-oriented setting, and pursuing a career in the hospitality or food service industry, the banquet server role at Sodexo at the University of Florida campus could be your next great opportunity. You will gain valuable experience in event service and contribute to memorable dining experiences while enjoying the benefits and support of a leading global company.
