The role of a Banquet Server at Mid-Continent Hospitality is crucial in ensuring the seamless execution of banquet functions. As a Banquet Server, you will be responsible for the complete setup, service, and tear-down of assigned banquet events. Banquet Servers must adhere to all Mid-Continent Hospitality regulations, including certifications relevant to the position such as Alcohol Awareness and Food Handler certifications. Awareness of fire extinguisher locations and strict adherence to safety protocols help maintain a secure environment for guests and staff alike. Additionally, banquet servers are responsible for maintaining the banquet store room, ensuring it is stocked and organized with all necessary supplies for food service functions.

The position requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand for the entire shift and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in hotel or related field preferred
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification complying with state regulations
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • Capacity to stand during entire shift
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high pressure situations
  • Effective in handling workplace problems including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems
  • Effective listening and understanding skills
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure

Job Duties

  • Set up all assigned banquet functions
  • Serve guests according to hotel standards in a friendly and professional manner

  • Respond to guest problems, complaints and accidents promptly and refer to management if necessary
  • Maintain banquet store room neat, organized and stocked
  • Clear banquet space and store equipment and supplies after events
  • Comply with all hotel policies and safety regulations
