The Banquet Server position within USC Hospitality offers a vital role in enhancing the overall dining experience. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma not required
  • 1 year of experience
  • Knowledge of food handling and sanitation procedures
  • Demonstrated customer service experience
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Presents oneself professionally in line with hotel environment

  • Valid CA driver’s license required
  • Participate in DMV Pull Notice System
  • Copy of DMV record required as final condition of employment

Job Duties

  • Provide professional delivery of food and beverage service to faculty, staff, students and guests
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and provide suggestions to customers based on established menus
  • Provide basic hot and cold food and beverage preparation service from recipes
  • Serve food and beverages to customers checking orders for accuracy and maintaining presentation standards
  • Conduct service transactions and process payments in compliance with policies
  • Stock and maintain all supplies, food, items, and utensils
  • Assist in set-up and break-down of dining room and events
  • Deliver food items to various campus and offsite locations
  • Maintain cleanliness of facilities and bus tables as necessary
  • Assist in kitchen sanitation program complying with food handling procedures
  • Adhere to department service standards and university rules
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Report to station ready to work at scheduled times
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
