Job Description

Sodexo is a global leader in food services and facilities management, dedicated to improving the quality of life for the people they serve. Operating across numerous sectors, including education, healthcare, corporate, and government, Sodexo provides a wide range of integrated services that focus on enhancing client satisfaction and employee well-being. With a commitment to social responsibility and sustainability, Sodexo's operating philosophy centers on creating a better everyday for everyone, fostering a workplace environment where diversity, inclusion, and respect are paramount. The company values each individual, encouraging employees to be authentic while contributing their unique perspectives to create a strong and dynamic team culture.

The Banquet Server position at Sodexo, based at the University of Florida campus, offers full-time employment with an hourly pay range of $13.78 to $18.61. This role is essential in delivering exceptional food and beverage services during catered events such as meetings, receptions, luncheons, dinners, and special functions. The banquet environment is dynamic and varies from casual buffet-style settings to formal plated meals and passed service, requiring adaptable service skills and a keen attention to detail.

As a Banquet Server, you will work under the guidance of the Banquet Captain and Banquet Supervisor to ensure that every event runs smoothly from start to finish. Your responsibilities begin with setting up and organizing tables and service areas to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation. During events, you will provide professional, timely, and attentive service to guests, including clearing tables, resetting place settings, and assisting with food and beverage service. Post-event duties include the breakdown of service areas and ensuring all equipment and materials are properly stored.

This position requires physical stamina, including frequent lifting and moving of items weighing up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The role demands excellent time management skills as you will be expected to attend scheduled shifts punctually with regularity. Working in varied shifts with open availability is preferred to meet the fluctuating demands of Sodexo's event calendar.

Sodexo prioritizes the professional growth of their employees, providing ongoing training and development opportunities to help you advance your career within the company. The role is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality and guest service who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Additionally, Sodexo supports work-life balance through flexible scheduling and a supportive workplace culture.

Sodexo offers a comprehensive benefits package to support employee well-being, including paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) plans, employee discount programs, and more. Some locations may offer additional site-specific benefits such as free shift meals, uniforms, safety shoes, public transportation support, and parking allowances. These benefits reflect Sodexo’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and rewarding employment experience.

Working with Sodexo means you become part of a company that believes your everyday actions have the power to make a meaningful impact. The company embraces diversity and equal employment opportunities, ensuring a respectful and equitable work environment for all employees, regardless of race, color, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other protected status. Sodexo encourages candidates to consider this opportunity if they wish to contribute to a team where their ideas and individuality are valued, and where they can grow professionally while making a difference in the communities they serve.
