Job Description

Snowbird is a renowned resort located in the heart of the Wasatch Mountain Range in Salt Lake City, Utah. Known for its breathtaking mountain views and challenging terrain, Snowbird offers a unique blend of outdoor adventure and hospitality. It is a destination that attracts both winter and summer enthusiasts, making it a vibrant and dynamic place to work throughout the year. The resort is committed to hiring employees who share a passion for the mountains and the outdoors, cultivating a team that values excellence, dedication, and a love for nature. Snowbird prides itself on providing a welcoming and inclusive work environment where diversity of thought, background, race, sexual orientation, gender, and belief is respected and celebrated. The company offers various employment options including full-time, part-time, seasonal, multi-seasonal, and year-round positions, catering to a wide range of employment needs and schedules.

The Banquet Server position at Snowbird is an on-call, seasonal role that plays a critical part in delivering exceptional food and beverage service during events held at the resort. Reporting directly to the Conference Operations Management Team, the Banquet Server is responsible for the setup, service, and breakdown of banquet events including continental breakfasts, coffee services, lunches, dinners, receptions, and cash food events. This role requires flexibility in scheduling as shifts can vary widely, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays, often affected by last-minute changes in guest requests or event requirements. The Banquet Server not only serves food and beverages but also ensures compliance with safety and service standards, particularly in the responsible service of alcoholic beverages. Attention to detail is essential as servers arrange tables, chairs, water services, and ensure the correct food items are served at appropriate temperatures. The role also demands physical endurance, as it involves lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying trays, and moving equipment, often in challenging weather conditions typical of a mountain environment. Beyond the physical and technical responsibilities, the Banquet Server must maintain a professional demeanor, uphold guest privacy and information security according to PCI DSS standards, and foster positive interactions with guests and colleagues alike.

Snowbird offers significant benefits to its employees, contributing to an attractive overall compensation package. These include ski passes and complimentary tickets, discounts on various resort amenities such as dining, retail shops, mountain school, lodging, and daycare, as well as access to 401k retirement plans. Free transportation options are also provided, including UTA buses, rideshare vans, and employee shuttles, facilitating convenient commutes to and from the resort. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced and ever-changing environments, have a passion for the outdoors, and are dedicated to providing superior guest service in a unique and inspiring mountain setting. Snowbird’s commitment to equal opportunity employment ensures that every employee enjoys a respectful and supportive workplace culture dedicated to professional growth and teamwork.
