Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 3 years assistant banquet manager experience
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and labor costs
  • Proficiency in banquet service operations
  • Familiarity with Marriott systems
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Experienced in all aspects of banquet service
  • 2 to 3 years assistant banquet manager experience
  • Demonstrated creativity in designing and implementing engaging creative breaks or interactive activities during banquets or conferences
  • Excellent motivational skills
  • Excellent leader and trainer
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Experience managing complex groups in full-service hotels
  • Expertise with Marriott systems (CI/TY, LightSpeed, Power of M)

Job Duties

  • Train, motivate, discipline, direct and supervise the work of the employees in the banquet department
  • Develop and maintain all training programs on a continual basis to ensure a high degree of professionalism within the staff
  • Schedule all employees to maintain the service standards while operating within budgeted labor cost guidelines
  • Ensure proper care, security and maintenance of hotel equipment through proper supervision of service personnel
  • Oversee banquet event operations to ensure seamless execution
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate banquet services
  • Manage inventory and ordering of banquet supplies
