Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
  • minimum 3 years of banquet or food and beverage supervisory experience required
  • valid California Food Handler certification or ability to obtain
  • Responsible Beverage Service certification or willingness to acquire
  • flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-site events
  • ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs with assistance
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • strong leadership presence and ability to manage team dynamics

Job Qualifications

  • 3-7 years of banquet, event, or food and beverage management experience
  • prior supervisory experience in luxury, boutique, or upscale hospitality required
  • hospitality management or related training preferred or equivalent experience
  • California Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service certification required or obtainable
  • strong leadership and team management abilities
  • high-level guest service mindset and communication skills
  • strong organizational and multitasking ability in fast-paced environments
  • financial acumen with budgeting and cost control experience
  • strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure
  • knowledge of banquet service standards and event execution
  • proficiency with hotel systems such as Opera, Delphi, or similar preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversee setup, execution, and breakdown of all banquet and catering events
  • review banquet event orders for accuracy and coordination across departments
  • lead pre-event meetings to align staffing, logistics, timing, and service flow
  • ensure seamless execution across all phases of each event
  • deliver luxury-level banquet service aligned with MacArthur Place standards
  • oversee service flow including arrival, food and beverage service, pacing, and presentation
  • maintain active floor presence to ensure service quality and guest satisfaction
