Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized hospitality company with a rich tradition of providing exceptional service and hospitality across its extensive portfolio of renowned hotel brands. Among these brands is Westin, which is dedicated to offering guests an enhanced travel experience focused on wellness and revitalization. Marriott International operates in numerous countries and is celebrated for cultivating an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture where diversity and personal growth are highly valued. The company is committed to providing equal opportunities for all employees and maintaining a safe and professional work environment that fosters career development and teamwork.
Located in Irving, Texas, the Westin hotel at 400 Las Colinas Blvd W embodies the brand's mission to empower guests to be their best selves while traveling. This hotel is currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to join their team as Event Service Attendants, a full-time, non-management role that plays a crucial part in the seamless execution of events. Working in the food and beverage and culinary sector, the position requires availability during evening hours to support hotel banquets, meetings, and other special occasions.
The Event Service Attendant role at Westin goes beyond setting up tables and chairs for guests; it is about crafting a memorable atmosphere through attentive service and efficient event support. Attendants are responsible for various tasks such as assembling and disassembling event materials, transporting supplies, stocking bars and action stations, and assisting with other operational needs. This position demands physical endurance as attendants will be standing, walking for extended periods, and performing manual tasks like lifting, carrying, pushing, and placing items weighing up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance.
Employees in this position are expected to adhere to company guidelines, maintain high-quality standards, and present a professional appearance and communication level at all times. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure guest satisfaction and the smooth functioning of the hotel’s event services. While no supervisory experience is required, candidates should have at least a high school diploma or equivalent credentials such as a GED, and some prior experience in related work is beneficial though not mandatory.
Marriott International and Westin emphasize a culture of well-being not only for their guests but also for their employees. As a member of this team, individuals are encouraged to embrace wellness practices both at work and in their personal lives, contributing to a positive and dynamic workplace atmosphere. Westin looks for candidates who are passionate, active, optimistic, and adventurous, reflecting the brand’s core values and mission.
Joining Marriott International means becoming part of a global family dedicated to excellence in hospitality, a company that nurtures its associates’ talents and diversity, and a workplace where employees can realize their fullest potential. This job opportunity at Westin in Irving offers a chance to start a rewarding career, be involved in exciting events, and contribute to creating unforgettable experiences for guests, all within a supportive and inclusive environment.
