The Banquet Server role at Marcus Hotels and Resorts plays a crucial part in the banquet department, primarily responsible for coordinating and delivering flawless food and beverage experiences during special events and functions. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently under sometimes fast-paced conditions. As a banquet server, you will set up banquet rooms with appropriate service equipment including china, silverware, and glassware in accordance with each event order, ensuring the environment reflects the standards of Marcus Hotels and Resorts and Marriott. You'll also be involved in preparing work areas such as coffee and bread stations, assisting guests by responding promptly and courteously to their needs, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma preferred
- no experience required
- prior hospitality or customer service experience preferred
- ability to respond quickly and accurately to guest requests
- ability to handle multiple tasks quickly and efficiently
- knowledge of appropriate table settings and proper set-up preferred
- ability to obtain and maintain active Lancaster County Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service Training Certification and other required certifications
- dependable and reliable with flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to handle work pressure
- attention to detail
- excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills
- ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 30 lbs
- ability to stand and move continuously

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Set up tables with china, silverware, and other service equipment according to event orders
- break down assigned banquet rooms following manager instructions
- maintain standards of quality and service per Marcus Hotels and Resorts and Marriott standards
- prepare work areas such as coffee stations and bread stations prior to functions
- serve food and beverages following company standards
- handle guest requests or coordinate additional assistance from supervisors or managers
- communicate regularly with captains, supervisors, and managers
- maintain cleanliness and condition of banquet rooms, public, and storage areas
- maintain inventory of necessary supplies
- promote excellent guest and associate rapport by responding promptly and courteously to requests
- follow all Marcus Hotels and Resorts policies and Marriott standards
- attend mandatory Banquet Department meetings, trainings, and hotel meetings
- perform related duties and special projects as assigned
