Job Requirements
- High school or equivalent education
- Minimum 2 years cooking experience preferably high volume
- Sous chef experience 1-2 years
- Food Handlers certification based on state requirements
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures and stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and push/pull equipment weighing up to 250 lbs
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Basic computer and computational skills
- Ability to maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance
- Regular attendance and adherence to company policies
- Ability to work varying schedules in a hospitality environment
Job Qualifications
- High school or equivalent education
- Minimum 2 years cooking experience preferably in high volume settings
- 1-2 years experience as a sous chef
- Catering experience is a plus
- Food Handlers certification based on state requirements
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent leadership and customer relations skills
- Detail oriented with outstanding organizational skills
- Basic computer and computational abilities
- Ability to effectively deal with customers and resolve conflicts
- Experience using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods such as grilling, baking, and boiling
Job Duties
- Manage and participate in daily banquet culinary operations
- Prepare food items for customers using a quality predetermined method
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment
- Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills or deep-fat fryers
- Set up station with predetermined requirements for all functions
- Assist with menu development
- Train and oversee kitchen staff on how to prepare menu items
- Uphold plating and portioning standards
- Plan for event staffing needs
- Adjust thermostat controls on cooking equipment
- Clean food preparation areas and utensils
- Maintain and enforce sanitation and safety standards
- Verify that prepared food meets quality and quantity requirements
- Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Chef
