  • previous banquet and event cooking experience

  • regularly walk, talk, see, and hear during work
  • capable of standing or walking 100 percent of an 8-hour shift (10 to 12 hours during peak times)
  • able to regularly lift and push or pull 35 lbs or more, occasionally up to 60 lbs
  • able to hear with 100 percent accuracy with correction
  • able to see with 20/20 vision with correction
  • able to fully operate kitchen equipment.

Job Duties

  • Resolve conflicts within the department including disciplinary issues
  • monitor staff appearance, attitude, and professionalism
  • delegate tasks to staff within their roles
  • create and maintain employee schedules
  • train new and current employees in techniques and kitchen organization
  • promote a safe and comfortable work environment free from harassment and bullying
  • solicit operational and service feedback
  • participate in positive team-building culture
  • work beyond scheduled hours as needed
  • attend BEO meetings and communicate with Catering planning team
  • communicate operational and staffing information to management
  • maintain contact with employees and guests to solicit feedback
  • ensure food quality and consistency
  • assist in creating banquet and event menus
  • oversee prep production and delegate tasks
  • organize kitchen operations
  • manage ingredient ordering and storage
  • adhere to health department regulations
  • maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization
  • manage kitchen equipment use and upkeep
  • help maintain food and labor cost targets
  • ensure proper food storage and rotation
  • adhere to portion control standards
  • minimize waste during prep and service.
