The specific role available is for a Banquet Captain, a pivotal position responsible for the smooth execution of banquet functions. Reporting directly to the Banquet Manager, the Banquet Captain supervises and directs hourly banquet food and beverage servers and housemen, acting as the key property representative to banquet guests. This role includes coordinating all aspects of banquet room setup, overseeing food and beverage service during events, and ensuring guest satisfaction while maximizing revenue opportunities. Ideal candidates will have prior experience managing high-volume banquet functions in upscale settings, exhibit strong leadership qualities, and possess a deep passion for guest service. The Banquet Captain's responsibilities range from setting up banquet rooms with attention to detail, serving food and beverages efficiently, managing the cleanup process post-event, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in supporting areas. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits to enhance guest interactions. Compensation ranges from $15.00 to $19.00 per hour, reflective of experience and qualifications. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in banquet or catering service
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of food service experience preferably in banquet service
  • Experience in a 4-star or 5-star venue with synchronized service
  • Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passion for creating exceptional guest experiences

Job Duties

  • Direct the setup and preparation of banquet rooms for functions
  • Serve and bus tables during events
  • Clear and tear down banquet rooms after functions
  • Lead hourly banquet food and beverage servers and housemen
  • Coordinate all aspects of room setup and food and beverage service
  • Enhance guest satisfaction and maximize revenues
  • Maintain cleanliness of back hall and organize storerooms
