Their footprint extends across North America, including offices in key cities such as Vancouver, Toronto, Los Angeles, Seattle, Phoenix, and Chicago. This broad presence underlines Onni's dedication to fostering environments that promote not only residential comfort but also dynamic business and social interactions, making it a leader in the real estate development industry.

The Banquets & Events Operations Manager role at Onni is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional to bring precision and leadership in executing banquet and event operations. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $75,000 per year and provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health saving accounts, flexible saving accounts, employee assistance programs, and more. The role is pivotal in ensuring seamless front-of-house event delivery, coordinating closely with diverse teams including the Executive Chef, Director of Food & Beverage, and Sales Department to orchestrate successful events across various spaces such as event halls, meeting rooms, and bar/restaurant outlets.

This managerial position requires overseeing the end-to-end process of event execution, from detailed planning through final event close-out, emphasizing adherence to client specifications and company standards. The manager will be responsible for creating and disseminating event timelines, floor plans, and service protocols, managing the scheduling and performance of banquet staff, and ensuring operational efficiency in event setups. Strong leadership skills are essential as the role includes staff training, development, and enforcement of service and conduct standards. Additionally, the manager will handle front-of-house operations, maintain orderly equipment and inventory controls, and ensure venue readiness and maintenance are consistently maintained.

An integral part of the role is acting as the primary on-site manager during events, fostering exceptional guest experiences, managing vendor relationships, and swiftly addressing and resolving any issues that arise. The position demands strong collaboration with the Event Sales Team to ensure accurate translation of contracts into actionable operation plans, contributing strategic operational insights during event planning and post-event evaluations.

The Banquets & Events Operations Manager also plays a critical role in administrative planning, including monitoring budgets, maintaining compliance with liquor laws, managing payroll, and leveraging past event data to enhance future service delivery. Candidates for this role should bring at least five years of experience in event coordination, banquet operations, or hospitality management, including management experience. Certifications in food safety and alcohol service such as Illinois Manager’s Food Handler and ServSafe or TIPS/BASSET are required. Proficiency with tools like Canva, TripleSeat, Microsoft Office, and Toast is preferred, along with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality or management.

Open availability is needed, covering nights, weekends, and holidays, with a five-day workweek that includes administrative duties and floor shifts. This role may also involve responsible usage of artificial intelligence tools to enhance research, content development, design, and operational efficiency, aligning with Onni's commitment to innovation and quality.

Joining Onni means becoming part of a dynamic, forward-thinking company culture that values collaboration, continuous learning, and employee well-being, supported by a generous referral program, education allowance, and exclusive friends and family rates at affiliated hotels and suites.
