The establishment prides itself on a commitment to craftsmanship, utilizing quality ingredients to produce products that not only taste exceptional but also reflect a deep-seated passion for artisanal baking. This emphasis on quality and hospitality has positioned Orijin as one of Ann Arbor's premier bakery destinations, celebrated by locals and visitors alike for its welcoming atmosphere and superior offerings.
At Orijin, the focus on hospitality extends beyond the products to include the guest experience, creating an environment where exceptional service meets exceptional food. The bakery maintains a culture rooted in genuine hospitality, quality, and community, consistently striving to deliver memorable moments for every guest who walks through the door. The team at Orijin embodies these values, ensuring that each visit feels special and that customer satisfaction is paramount.
The role of Bakery Manager at Orijin is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all front-of-house operations to ensure that every guest receives warm, genuine, and efficient service. This role involves working closely with the Executive Pastry Chef and Co-Owner, Jin Capobianco, to maintain the highest standards of hospitality and operational excellence. The Bakery Manager will lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
This position offers the unique opportunity to shape both the culture and daily operations of a thriving artisan bakery, contributing to its continued growth and success. Key responsibilities include managing daily retail operations, sales performance, product presentation, scheduling, payroll, and cash handling. The Bakery Manager is also tasked with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training front-of-house staff, ensuring that every team member is equipped to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for hospitality and a proven track record of leadership in high-volume, detail-oriented environments. They will excel at coaching through example and be comfortable taking ownership in a hands-on leadership role. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role requires building positive relationships with guests and team members alike. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment are critical attributes for success.
In addition to operational duties, the Bakery Manager will collaborate with pastry leadership to optimize merchandising, product availability, and overall guest experience. Resolving guest concerns professionally while continuously seeking opportunities to enhance service quality will be a vital part of their role. This position is suited for someone who embraces collaboration and high standards, eager to contribute to Orijin's mission of exceptional hospitality and craftsmanship.
