The bakery associate role is a critical position within our team, designed to provide excellent guest service and ensure the smooth operation of bakery department activities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in preparing bakery products for sale, maintaining product quality, and supporting the overall cleanliness and organization of the department.

This position involves direct interaction with customers, where polite and friendly greetings set the tone for a positive shopping experience. Additionally, the role includes responsibilities such as baking, weighing, pricing products, and, when requested, performing cake decorating clerk functions. Maintaining sanitation standards in all bakery-related areas, including coolers, freezers, prep areas, and sales spaces, is vital to uphold our commitment to food safety and quality.

Beyond product preparation and maintenance, the bakery associate will also assist with inventory tasks such as receiving and storing products. Communication plays an important part in this role, requiring the associate to relay guest requests to management and report any temperature-related concerns in storage areas to supervisors. Managing supply areas to keep them neat and tidy, helping at the front end during busy periods to ensure minimal wait times for guests, and announcing sales and special offers via the PA system further broaden the scope of this role.

Ideal candidates will exhibit a friendly, outgoing personality coupled with effective guest service and communication skills. The physical demands include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds consistently and occasionally up to 50 pounds, as well as the stamina to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods. Being 18 years or older is a mandatory requirement for this position.
