This full-time bakery position plays a crucial role in upholding the store’s reputation for quality and customer service. The Bakery Department team works collaboratively to prepare a variety of bakery products including muffins, granolas, cookies, cakes, confections, and mousses. Employees are expected to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards, follow precise recipes to ensure consistency, and assist with special orders and customer inquiries. The role also involves supporting the Deli Counter staff when needed, highlighting a team-oriented working environment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous baking experience preferred
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to climb and balance on step stool or ladder
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch
- Physical stamina to sustain repetitive arm and hand motion
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of Health Department regulations
- Understanding allergen handling importance
- Ability to complete Food Handler’s Certificate within 10 days
- Previous scratch baking experience
- Intermediate cutlery skills
- Customer service experience with friendly personality
- Ability to read and extend recipes
- Ability to perform basic math for recipe measurements
Job Duties
- Oversee Bakery Department in absence of Kitchen Manager
- Present bakery cases attractively
- Take special orders and complete them
- Communicate concerns to Kitchen Manager
