As a Baker, you will set up your workstation with all necessary ingredients and equipment, preparing ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, and chopping as needed. You will safely operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, and mixers, and manage utensils with care to maintain safety standards. Proper food storage in compliance with company food safety policies is critical, along with keeping the work area, equipment, and utensils clean and sanitized. Maintaining excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward guests, co-workers, and clients is also a vital part of the role. The position may have physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing, with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience as a baker or in a food preparation role preferred
  • knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
  • ability to follow recipes and production guidelines accurately
  • physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods
  • willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment as required
  • availability to work flexible hours according to business needs

Job Qualifications

  • previous experience as a baker or in a related role preferred
  • proven knowledge of baking methods, standards, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • required to obtain food safety certification(s)
  • demonstrates basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • bakes and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, etc.
  • operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, etc.
  • safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
