Beyond providing exceptional hotel accommodations, Sonesta is deeply committed to fostering meaningful connections between guests and their experiences, delivering service with passion and loyalty with purpose to create memorable stays.
The role of Pastry Cook at Sonesta International Hotels is a vital position within the culinary team, focused on delivering top-tier pastry and baking products across all hotel outlets. Reporting directly to the Pastry Chef, the Pastry Cook is responsible for producing baked goods and desserts that meet the highest standards of quality and taste. This position demands attention to detail, efficiency in meeting production demands, and a thorough understanding of both classical and modern pastry techniques. The Pastry Cook manages the cleanliness and organization of the pastry shop while coordinating production schedules and overseeing the purchasing of ingredients. Working in a luxury hotel environment means the Pastry Cook is expected to maintain consistent quality for all meal periods and contribute effectively to department meetings. The versatility of this role includes assisting in other areas of the hotel when necessary, emphasizing teamwork and operational support beyond the pastry kitchen. The position offers an attractive salary range from $26.50 to $28.50 per hour, depending on experience and job-specific skills, reflecting the importance of culinary expertise and a strong work ethic. Sonesta values its employees and supports their well-being with comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and educational assistance among others.
Joining Sonesta as a Pastry Cook means becoming part of a company that prides itself on equal opportunity employment and fosters an inclusive, supportive work environment. The ideal candidate will bring at least three years of experience in a luxury hotel pastry kitchen and possess either a culinary degree or relevant hands-on experience. This role requires physical stamina, good communication skills, and the ability to meet the fast-paced demands of a prominent hotel kitchen. Sonesta's commitment to employee growth and satisfaction ensures that every team member has the tools, benefits, and support needed to thrive in their career while contributing to unforgettable guest experiences.
