As a fast-growing retailer, Coborn's operates a diverse family of grocery stores including Coborn's, Cash Wise Foods, Marketplace Foods, Hornbacher's, Tadych's Marketplace Foods, Sullivan's Foods, and Kessler's. Their mission centers on providing an elevated shopping experience that focuses on freshness, value, and convenience, both in-store and online. Coborn's commitment to inspiring happiness, healthy living, and simplicity drives their continuous growth and deep connection with the communities they serve. Beyond grocery, Coborn's also operates multiple liquor store brands and convenience store locations, alongside supporting diverse retail businesses such as Ace Hardware, Caribou Coffee, Erbert and Gerbert's, Godfather's Pizza, and Pet Supplies Plus. This extensive retail footprint is underpinned by their own central bakery, fresh foods commissary, and comprehensive warehouse and distribution operations, ensuring quality and consistency.
The Baker/Fryer role within Coborn's Bakery Department plays a key part in delivering the high-quality products that customers expect. This position is primarily focused on bakery production activities such as thawing, mixing, proofing, and baking or frying various bakery items. The role requires maintaining proper production levels in a fast-paced environment while adhering carefully to production guidelines and standards. Additionally, the Baker/Fryer helps with inventory tasks including receiving deliveries, ordering frozen and dry products, and organizing freezers and coolers to optimize space and product accessibility. This position serves as a critical link between the operational efficiency of the bakery and store customer satisfaction.
Working at Coborn's means being part of an employee-owned organization that values its people and invests in their futures. The company fosters a supportive and vibrant team environment where employees experience ongoing career growth opportunities. Both full-time and part-time employees benefit from a generous package including a 10% employee discount on grocery items, access to DailyPay to receive pay early, paid time off, paid floating holidays, Sunday premium pay, paid military leave, and numerous recognition programs. Health and wellness resources, employee assistance programs, and access to national discount marketplaces further support employee well-being. For full-time team members, Coborn's provides medical and dental insurance, health savings accounts, paid family caregiver leave, tuition reimbursement, and company-sponsored life and disability insurance. Participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) also allows employees to share in the company’s success.
Ideal candidates will be at least 18 years old and preferably have prior retail or bakery experience. Coborn's is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer that values difference and inclusion in the workplace, encouraging all qualified individuals, including minorities, females, veterans, and individuals with disabilities, to apply. This opportunity provides not just a job, but a rewarding career path where your work directly contributes to creating excellent customer experiences and community well-being.
