Job Duties

  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas, equipment, work surfaces, and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and other equipment
  • Bake breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries following recipes to maintain quality and consistency
  • Monitor food preparation using tasting, smelling, or food thermometers to ensure proper cooking
  • Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables for consumption
  • Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other cooking equipment
  • Compile and maintain records of food usage and assist with inventory management
  • Prepare stations according to company guidelines and follow food specification amounts provided by supervisor
  • Assist culinary staff at various stations as directed and communicate with supervisor regarding kitchen equipment and supply needs
  • Adhere to and promote company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, uniform guidelines, and productivity
