Job Description
Dexterra Group is a well-established company with a rich history spanning over 75 years, having evolved from independently formed companies that have been dedicated to supporting infrastructure and built assets critical to society. The company excels in bringing together the right teams equipped with the necessary skills, combining vast experience with regional expertise. This strategic approach has enabled Dexterra Group to empower its clients to operate their daily operations confidently and successfully, ensuring higher performance and productivity. Dexterra's commitment to quality, safety, and innovation places it as a leader in workforce accommodations and related services, making it a trusted partner in the industry.
The Baker role at Dexterra Group is pivotal in the seamless operation of bakery facilities within workforce accommodations. This hands-on leadership position entails managing the entire bakery production process, ensuring top-tier quality, compliance with food safety standards, and adapting to scale the output from serving approximately 500 guests to over 4,000 guests daily. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef or their delegate, the Baker is responsible for supervising night-shift staff, maintaining strict quality control, and ensuring a consistent supply of freshly baked goods. The role combines technical baking expertise with operational oversight, requiring the individual to work collaboratively with culinary leadership to align production with service needs.
This opportunity is ideal for culinary professionals who have a specialty in baking and thrive in high-volume, fast-paced environments. The successful candidate will lead by example, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and culinary excellence while continuously seeking ways to optimize bakery operations. With responsibilities spanning from preparing breads and desserts to adhering to HACCP principles and maintaining a clean and organized workspace, the Baker plays an integral role in the guest experience and overall food service quality at Dexterra Group's facilities. This position not only demands strong baking skills but also supervisory abilities and a proactive approach to operational improvements, making it a substantial career opportunity for chefs dedicated to bakery production in institutional and workforce accommodation settings.
