This particular role is for a Bakery Associate at Yoke's Fresh Market, where the primary focus is on providing an excellent bakery experience for customers. This position offers an hourly wage range of $17.15 to $22.25, depending on experience, with verifiable hours and/or work samples. The Bakery Associate is responsible for actively engaging guests with professionalism and hospitality, preparing bakery products according to company recipes, maintaining product quality and stock levels, and ensuring a clean and safe workplace environment. The role includes operating various bakery equipment safely and proficiently, from doughnut fryers to sheeters and ovens, to produce a wide array of bakery goods like raised doughnuts, cakes, muffins, cookies, pies, artisan bread, and seasonal specialties.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • valid State Food Handlers Permit
  • valid Driver's License or State ID
  • ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • ability to operate bakery equipment safely
  • capable of effective communication with guests and associates
  • commitment to adhere to health and safety regulations
  • willingness to work assigned shifts punctually
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes temperature-variable environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or one to three months related experience and/or training
  • reads and comprehends simple instructions and communicates effectively
  • performs mathematical skills related to money and measurement
  • applies common sense to carry out instructions
  • meets state requirement for working with bakery equipment
  • holds valid State Food Handlers Permit
  • holds valid Driver's License or State ID
  • ability to perform job duties sufficiently with reasonable accommodations
  • willingness to participate in Yokes provided training including bakery skills and safety programs

Job Duties

  • Reporting for assigned shifts on time and prepared to provide excellent service
  • promoting sales by providing high-quality bakery products consistent with company formulas
  • providing exceptional guest service using specialized training
  • performing bakery tasks including finishing par bake products, labeling, rotating stock, writing orders and implementing promotions
  • maintaining proficiency in the production of a variety of bakery goods according to standards
  • operating bakery equipment safely such as fryers, ovens, sheeters, and slicers
  • ensuring accurate production and quality control of products
  • receiving and checking deliveries for quality and quantity
  • communicating and fulfilling guests' special order requests accurately and promptly
  • mentoring new associates and fostering a positive learning environment
  • maintaining workplace safety and hygiene in compliance with all regulations
  • participating in accident reduction plans including cleaning, sanitizing, and recognizing safety features
