Job Description

Festival Foods is a dedicated Wisconsin grocer operating over 40 full-service supermarkets across the state, committed to giving back to the communities it serves and providing guests with exceptional service and value. Passionate about quality, community involvement, and customer satisfaction, Festival Foods places people at the top of its priorities. This is reflected in the company's emphasis on excellent daily interactions, superior guest treatment, and extensive associate benefits and programs designed to support employee well-being and growth within the company.

Join Festival Foods as a part-time Baker, reporting to the Bakery Department Manager at their Hartford location. This role requires morning availability and offers the opportunity to contribute to creating memorable food experiences for guests through delicious bakery and pastry products. The Baker plays a crucial role in supporting special occasions and everyday indulgences by ensuring the highest quality standards in baking and customer service. The position is part-time, providing flexibility while allowing the individual to develop baking skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

In this role, you will meticulously follow recipes and production plans to maintain consistency and quality at all times. You will handle stock monitoring, ensuring that bakery items are fresh, properly dated, and arranged to meet store demand. A major focus is placed on adhering to all health and safety guidelines set by the Health Department and Festival Foods’ sanitation protocols to sustain a clean and safe work environment for both employees and guests. The job involves regular interaction with customers, assisting with special orders, answering questions, and addressing concerns with professionalism and warmth.

Physical demands are significant; the Baker will spend much of the day standing, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds, frequently using repetitive hand and wrist motions. Working conditions may include exposure to extreme temperatures and operation near moving machinery, requiring strict attention to safety practices and procedures.

Festival Foods values teamwork and expects Bakers to collaborate with all bakery associates to achieve department goals efficiently. Timely attendance and schedule adherence are critical, as well as flexibility to work early mornings, afternoons, weekends, holidays, and occasionally evening or overnight shifts. This role offers competitive compensation, frequent pay access through weekly payroll, premium pay on Sundays and select holidays, and comprehensive benefits that support associates’ health, well-being, and future financial security.

By joining the Festival Foods bakery team, Bakers gain the opportunity to work in an environment where quality, collaboration, and outstanding food service are paramount. The company fosters a culture of mutual respect and inclusion, welcoming individuals of diverse backgrounds to contribute to a strong team dynamic dedicated to serving the community. Festival Foods encourages career growth for its associates through training and supportive benefits, making it an excellent choice for candidates passionate about baking and customer care who want to thrive in a rewarding retail food environment.
