The role of the baker at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy is vital in ensuring high-quality food service delivery across the hospital’s campuses. This position involves hands-on baking experience where the candidate will produce a wide variety of baked goods, such as cookies, pastries, biscotti, and bars. Additionally, the baker will be responsible for preparing high-end desserts for catered events, supporting the hospital’s commitment to providing excellent culinary experiences that enhance patient and visitor satisfaction. The baker will work within a fast-paced environment, requiring a balance of artistry, precision, and efficiency to maintain the highest food standards.

This includes adhering to dietary requirements and modifying preparations to accommodate food allergies and therapeutic diets where necessary. The position requires familiarity with various kitchen utensils and equipment such as mixers, ovens, fryers, and steamers. Keeping proper labeling and storage of food products and equipment according to regulations is also a crucial responsibility to maintain food safety and compliance within the healthcare facility.

The baker must champion food quality standards consistently and ensure cleanliness in all cooking and serving areas through diligent washing and sanitation practices. This position demands good cooking skills, attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to culinary excellence.
