The role of Baker at Frazier Farms Market is essential to maintaining the bakery’s reputation for excellence. This is a full-time or part-time position classified as non-exempt under the bakery department and reports directly to the Bakery Manager. The baker will be responsible for preparing, baking, decorating, packaging, and stocking a variety of bakery products such as breads, pastries, cookies, and cakes. Additionally, the baker will provide assistance to customers by answering product questions and accommodating special requests. Inventory management such as receiving deliveries, stocking, rotating products using the FIFO method, and maintaining product levels also forms a part of the responsibilities. Support during high-volume periods such as holidays and special promotions is expected.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand movements
  • Ability to work safely around bakery equipment and varying temperatures

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Previous bakery, grocery, restaurant, or food production experience preferred
  • Passion for baking and producing quality products
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Food Handler Certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire

Job Duties

  • Prepare and bake breads, pastries, cookies, cakes, and other bakery products according to company recipes and production standards
  • Mix, scale, shape, proof, decorate, and package bakery items
  • Monitor baking times, temperatures, and product quality to ensure consistency and freshness
  • Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary work areas, equipment, and displays
  • Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful customer service
  • Assist customers with bakery product questions and special requests
  • Rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures
  • Assist with receiving deliveries, stocking inventory, and maintaining product levels
  • Operate bakery equipment safely, including mixers, ovens, slicers, scales, and wrappers
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines
  • Support the bakery team during holidays, promotions, and high-volume periods
  • Perform other duties as assigned
