The Baker 1 position at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality baked goods to various resort outlets. This role involves preparing morning baked goods, assisting with banquet productions, and supporting weekly brunch events. The Baker 1 must maintain par levels and ensure that all production is completed on schedule, meeting the resort's exacting standards for quality and presentation. The position demands attention to detail, adherence to food safety and sanitation policies, and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision. Associates in this role are required to maintain professionalism in appearance and demeanor while following all resort rules and safety procedures.
The Baker 1 is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of bakery equipment, carefully storing ingredients and products in approved containers with accurate labeling and dating, and rotating stock to comply with freshness standards. This role requires participation in daily inventory management and requisition preparation for production needs. The position demands flexibility in working hours, as the resort operates 24/7 and may require employees to work beyond their scheduled shifts. Job Requirements
- four years' experience in bakery production or equivalent combination of education and experience
- San Diego County Food Handlers card prior to the start of employment
- ability to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods
- ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- ability to work flexible hours including shifts outside scheduled times
- ability to follow written and oral instructions
- capability to work in various environmental conditions including heat, cold, and humidity
- willingness to adhere to all safety and sanitation policies
- ability to maintain professional demeanor and appearance
Job Qualifications
