GovCIO is currently seeking a qualified AV / VTC Tech and Administrator to support the ongoing communications requirements at the United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM). SOUTHCOM is a unified combatant command responsible for overseeing military operations and partnerships in Central and South America and the Caribbean. The systems maintained by this role include video teleconferencing (VTC), Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), and audiovisual (AV) equipment installed in diverse locations such as auditoriums, conference rooms, executive suites, team rooms, mobile VTC carts, portable AV units, and desktop systems.

The AV / VTC Tech and Administrator position is an onsite role based in Doral, Florida, tasked with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and operation of interconnected VTC/IPTV/AV systems. These systems are networked through specialized switches, bridges, and cabling infrastructures on the backend, with control enabled via dedicated VTC/IPTV/AV software, hardware, and control appliances on the front end. This technical support team ensures seamless video teleconferencing and audiovisual services across multiple SOUTHCOM locations, which are critical for command communications and operational coordination.

The role requires a hands-on approach to installing telecommunications equipment, including pulling, terminating, and testing cables, connectors, and all associated interfaces. Responsibilities also encompass performing detailed alignment and calibration procedures to guarantee optimal system performance. The technician will maintain comprehensive inventories and asset management for telecommunication equipment, media production facilities, and fixed installations both at their company premises and client sites.

In addition to hardware installation and maintenance, the AV / VTC Tech will resolve operational issues by troubleshooting and isolating faults in real-time and may oversee telecommunications technicians or external contractors providing support services. The role involves acting as the primary operator for VTC/IPTV/AV equipment during conferences, managing audio-visual checks before sessions, and coordinating recording and teleconferencing activities.

Daily duties include creating and managing conference scheduling calendars, facilitating VTC/IPTV/AV conferences, collaborating with bridge operators and facilitators, and ensuring smooth technical operations. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including MS Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio, is essential for performing these coordination and documentation tasks effectively.

The AV / VTC Tech and Administrator will work closely with engineers for site VTC and conference room systems by scheduling VTCs with external sites, configuring rooms to meet specific conference requirements, capturing video sessions, and transferring media to streaming servers. Troubleshooting network and equipment issues promptly is a vital component of this role, as is providing weekly reporting on projects, bridge activities, outages, and the volume of VTC sessions.

The expected salary range is between USD 75,000 and USD 94,000 per year, reflecting the level of expertise and security clearance required.
