The Porter role at Gerber Collision & Glass is an essential position that supports the overall quality of collision and glass repair services by ensuring vehicles are impeccably cleaned and ready for delivery. This position involves maintaining a clean and organized environment within the shop and office areas, contributing to a smooth operational workflow and enhancing the customer experience. The Porter is responsible for pre-washing customer vehicles before repairs begin, performing detailed interior and exterior cleaning after repairs, and efficiently transporting vehicles to sublet locations as needed. This role demands attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive attitude to assist in daily housekeeping tasks like waste disposal, sweeping, and keeping the parking lots orderly, including seasonal duties such as shoveling sidewalks.

Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
  • maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area
  • maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location
  • maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
  • pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning
  • exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
  • transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
