Job Description

The Boyd Group, located on Tresca Road in Jacksonville, Florida, is committed to putting its team members first. As a reputable leader in the automotive repair industry, The Boyd Group offers a supportive work environment where employees are empowered to make decisions that influence their career growth and future. Known for its dedication to quality service and customer satisfaction, The Boyd Group combines a strong team culture with competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits to create a fulfilling workplace experience.

This position is for a Porter role, designed to complement the quality repairs performed by technicians by ensuring that customer vehicles are impeccably cleaned before delivery. The Porter plays an essential part in maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the shop and office facilities, which directly impacts the customer experience and operational efficiency. This role is fundamental in upholding the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan, focusing on delivering outstanding service and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

In this role, the Porter will be responsible for a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks including daily housekeeping of the office and production areas, managing waste disposal, sweeping and dusting, and ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored. The Porter also handles the exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles both before and after repairs, contributing to a positive impression for customers receiving their vehicles. Additionally, the Porter is responsible for maintaining the parking lots and grounds, including snow removal or shoveling sidewalks as required.

To qualify for this position, candidates should ideally possess a high school diploma or GED, with automotive experience considered a plus. A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle are mandatory. The job requires strong multitasking abilities, clear close vision, and the physical capability to perform tasks such as pulling, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, standing for extended periods, and stooping or kneeling when necessary. The individual should be trustworthy, reliable, possess a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. Excellent customer service skills are essential as the Porter often represents the company to customers during vehicle delivery.

The Boyd Group values transparency and ethical recruiting practices, emphasizing that no artificial intelligence or automated tools are used in screening applicants, ensuring every application is reviewed by real people.

Compensation for the Porter role ranges between $15 and $18 per hour, commensurate with skill, education, and experience. The position may also include eligibility for bonus opportunities linked to individual performance or broader business initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking stable employment in a supportive, team-centric automotive environment with opportunities for personal and professional growth.
