Job Description

Marx Productions, Inc. is a premier full-service audiovisual production company renowned for delivering exceptional live event experiences across the United States. Specializing in corporate meetings, conferences, trade shows, concerts, outdoor events, galas, and other live productions, Marx Productions takes pride in offering comprehensive services from initial pre-production phases to seamless on-site execution. With a strong reputation for technical excellence, clear communication, and dependable delivery, the company continues to expand its operations in both Orlando, Florida, and Chandler, Arizona. This growth phase presents opportunities for skilled professionals to join a dynamic team committed to quality and client satisfaction.

The role of the Audio Visual Project Manager at Marx Productions, Inc., based in Chandler, Arizona, is a full-time, salaried position with immediate start dates. This role demands a dedicated leader to oversee live event projects from planning to successful completion. As the primary client contact, the Audio Visual Project Manager ensures effective communication and coordinates all technical logistics, managing show schedules and directing on-site event crews. This position is integral in guaranteeing that live events meet client expectations, adhere to timelines, and uphold the company’s high standards of quality and professionalism.

The Audio Visual Project Manager's responsibilities focus heavily on project leadership, technical coordination, client relationship management, and the execution of event logistics. Unlike some production roles, this position does not entail quoting, financial forecasting, or managing subrentals, allowing the manager to concentrate fully on logistical and operational excellence. The role requires overseeing the entire event lifecycle, ensuring that technical production schedules and scopes are communicated clearly to internal teams, vendors, and venue partners.

Leadership is a core element of this position, with duties including managing the project kickoff meetings, reviewing sales documents for accuracy in technical planning, assisting sales and operations teams with equipment needs, and providing guidance to associate project managers when multiple managers support a single event. The Audio Visual Project Manager collaborates across departments, including operations, inventory control, warehouse, and technical teams, ensuring all components are aligned for successful project execution.

On-site responsibilities are critical, as the manager leads crews through load-ins, setups, show running, and load-outs, maintaining constant communication with clients and adjusting crew deployment or workflows as event conditions evolve. Compliance with technical and production standards is mandatory, and the manager actively participates in post-event debriefings to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.

In addition to operational duties, the role involves precise administrative oversight. Tracking labor hours, managing schedule impacts, and documenting any changes during the event support internal reconciliation and billing processes. Continuous improvement of project management standard operating procedures (SOPs) is encouraged, as is conducting reviews and analysis of events as needed.

This position requires a minimum of three years’ experience in the audiovisual industry, preferably with supervisory or crew leadership experience, and a degree in project management, business administration, or a related field is highly desirable. A strong technical background with knowledge of AV equipment and live event execution is essential, alongside excellent communication and organizational skills. The candidate must be capable of adapting to fast-paced environments with changing priorities, possess problem-solving skills, and hold a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation. Travel is a mandatory aspect of this role, reflecting the company's commitment to supporting live events across various locations.

Marx Productions values a culture grounded in accountability, creativity, hustle, and teamwork, fostering an environment where employees support each other to deliver exceptional results and grow professionally. They are an equal opportunity employer, committed to diversity and inclusion, welcoming applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply. Comprehensive benefits include competitive salaries, healthcare and dental insurance, paid sick and vacation days, and opportunities for career advancement within a rapidly expanding enterprise.
