The role of Attraction Operator at Universal Kids Resort plays a critical part in maintaining the safe and smooth operation of the park's attractions, shows, and play areas. This position demands a high level of operational responsibility, including the execution of safety procedures, guest screening based on ride requirements, and effective crowd management. Operators are expected to engage guests in a warm and professional manner, delivering themed narrations and information that enhance the thematic experience of each attraction or show. They are also responsible for routine inspections of rides, including checking safety restraints and operating control consoles to ensure all equipment is functioning optimally. Attention to cleanliness and organization within the work area is crucial to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests and team members alike.

Further, Attraction Operators support seasonal and special events, contributing to guest arrivals and the facilitation of group movements throughout the park in coordination with multiple departments. Environmental safety and health guidelines are a core aspect of this role, requiring participants to actively follow Universal's established policies and engage in safety training. Job Requirements

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and operate ride vehicles and moving machinery
Regularly required to ride the attraction or ride to ensure show quality and that special effects are functioning properly
Responsible for evacuating the attraction or ride and assisting guests through evacuation methods

Consistent attendance is required
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous theme park or hospitality experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be able to work a flexible and varying schedule based on business needs

Job Qualifications

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and operate ride vehicles and moving machinery
Experience in regularly riding attractions or rides to ensure show quality and special effects functionality
Ability to evacuate attractions or rides and assist guests during emergencies
Consistent attendance and reliability
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous theme park or hospitality experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Duties

Ensures the proper use of safety practices and procedures while operating attractions, shows, or play areas
Screens guests for ride requirements, special access needs, and ushers guests as necessary
Loads and unloads ride or show, checks ride restraints and lap bars, provides safety instructions, operates control consoles, dispatches vehicles, and observes ride monitors
Welcomes and engages guests by delivering themed narrations or storylines and providing attraction or show information and times
Monitors queues, adjusts guest flow, and measures attraction wait times
Maintains a clean and safe work environment including trash removal and proper maintenance of equipment and props
Supports seasonal and special events by assisting with arrivals, check-in, and guest movement throughout the park
Actively participates in environmental, health, and safety responsibilities and follows established policies, procedures, and training
Performs other duties as assigned
