Job Description

Our company is a dynamic player in the IT operations sector, with a particular emphasis on supporting enterprise-level application delivery and administration. We operate across multiple locations including San Diego, Colorado, Huntsville, and Tupelo in the United States, offering a flexible work arrangement depending on the candidate's location preference. Our team is dedicated to leveraging technology to enhance business workflows, focusing on the successful deployment and maintenance of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications and cloud-based enterprise solutions. With a collaborative and agile approach, our IT Operations & GAWorks Agile Operations team embodies innovation, efficiency, and a commitment to quality service delivery.

We are currently looking for a driven Atlassian Administrator to join our team. This role is a crucial part of our IT operations, specifically focusing on managing the Atlassian suite of products—JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Fisheye/Crucible, and JIRA Service Management—and integrating key marketplace add-ons. The position involves both front-end workflow configuration and back-end server/IaaS administration particularly on Linux server systems, which underscores the need for a technically proficient individual comfortable managing complex systems. The role further extends to supporting Microsoft 365 applications such as Teams, OneDrive, Forms, Planner, and SharePoint, reflecting our integrated approach to enterprise software management.

This employment opportunity offers a full-time position under the general supervision of the ITS / GAWorks Agile Operations Senior Manager. The Atlassian Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, enterprise applications, and hybrid multi-cloud environments, aligning ITS organization policies with company policies for operational consistency and security. Responsibilities include system installation, configuration, patch management, user account administration, software and hardware maintenance, application monitoring, and compliance adherence to ensure the stability, security, and resilience of the enterprise systems.

An ideal candidate will bring at least three years of progressive professional experience in systems administration with a strong focus on Atlassian products. Experience in enterprise environments handling JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and Fisheye/Crucible is highly preferred. The role demands technical leadership in system problem-solving, upgrade planning, and coordination of patch deployments while maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date documentation and knowledge bases. Candidates will work collaboratively with stakeholders from various departments, including business owners, program managers, suppliers, and vendors to continuously enhance and support enterprise application environments.

The successful candidate will embody our organizational values of agility, collaboration, and continuous improvement, being capable of self-managing tasks in an Agile Scrum environment. This involves supporting sprints, timekeeping, burden down reporting, and maintaining service level agreements through reliable application support metrics and KPIs. A customer-focused mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team setting are essential to thrive in our fast-paced and evolving environment.

This role also involves maintaining strict confidentiality, particularly regarding classified programs, and the ability to obtain necessary security clearances. Aside from the technical skills, the Atlassian Administrator must uphold compliance, security standards, and operational protocols, thereby reinforcing our commitment to safe and secure IT operations.

Joining our team offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of technology application management within a supportive and innovative environment. The position commits to fostering professional growth by enabling hands-on experience with leading-edge tools and software solutions essential to enterprise business operations worldwide. The Atlassian Administrator role is a vital link in our infrastructure, empowering business units with reliable and effective IT solutions driving organizational success.
