The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager position at Porters Neck Country Club is a pivotal leadership role focused on enhancing the member dining experience and managing the smooth operation of all front-of-house restaurant activities. This full-time role reports directly to the Food & Beverage Director and collaborates closely with culinary leaders to ensure service excellence. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of restaurant or hospitality management experience preferred
- Ability to lead, coach, and develop service teams
- Flexible schedule to accommodate nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, twist or reach
- Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of health, safety, and alcohol service regulations
- Experience with POS and scheduling software preferred
Job Qualifications
- 2+ years of restaurant or hospitality management experience preferred
- Private club, upscale dining, resort, or high-volume hospitality experience strongly preferred
- Strong leadership presence with excellent communication skills
- Passion for hospitality and creating memorable dining experiences
- Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and club events
- Knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service standards preferred
- Experience with POS systems and scheduling platforms is a plus
Job Duties
- Assist in overseeing all front-of-house restaurant operations
- Lead daily service execution across dining outlets, events, and club functions
- Ensure exceptional member and guest experiences through elevated hospitality standards
- Supervise, coach, and develop service staff including servers, bartenders, hosts, and support team members
- Assist with scheduling, training, onboarding, and performance management
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and service readiness throughout all dining areas
- Collaborate with culinary leadership on menu rollouts, special events, and seasonal programming
- Monitor labor efficiency, service flow, and operational consistency
- Address member feedback professionally and proactively
- Support beverage operations including bar oversight, wine service, and inventory controls
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service standards
