We are currently seeking a part-time Veterinarian to join our Vetco Total Care Full-Service Veterinary Hospitals located in Seattle, WA. This role involves an immersive and comprehensive engagement in patient care, where veterinarians are the cornerstone of medical excellence within the hospital. The successful candidate will perform physical examinations, diagnose and treat diseases, and provide preventive care tailored to the specific needs based on patient lifestyle and environment. Responsibilities extend to performing routine and complex surgical and dental procedures, developing treatment plans including management of day hospitalization and coordinating patient care continuity with referral hospitals.

At Petco, veterinarians work alongside supportive medical field leaders and a skilled paraprofessional team trained in dentistry, nutrition, and other specialties. The position demands high standards in medical practice, patient care, and teamwork. Veterinarians are entrusted with discretion in patient care decisions while adhering to Petco Veterinary SOPs and receiving guidance from the Hospital Medical Leader or Area Medical Director. Maintaining a professional and personable demeanor is essential, fostering a collaborative and respectful working environment.

The role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, compassion, and an ability to handle emotionally and physically demanding situations. The work environment includes standing for long periods, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 30 pounds. Interaction with clients, colleagues, veterinary specialists, and suppliers is frequent, requiring excellent telephone and computer skills.
