Job Description
This established restaurant is a dynamic and customer-focused dining establishment committed to delivering excellent service and high-quality food. Known for its dedication to maintaining stringent company standards in product and facility specifications, this restaurant provides a vibrant work environment where leadership, innovation, and operational excellence are highly valued. As part of a broader hospitality group, the restaurant emphasizes team development, operational efficiency, and a customer-centric culture, supporting growth and development for all its staff members.
The role of Associate Restaurant Manager (ARM) is designed as the assistant to the Restaurant General Manager (RGM), providing crucial leadership and direct supervision to various operational layers including Assistant General Managers, Shift Managers, and Team Members. The ARM is responsible for driving excellence in customer service, ensuring food safety and quality, maintaining financial control, and supporting overall restaurant performance. This position is key in achieving the restaurant’s annual operating plans and margin targets, while also fostering a positive work environment and helping develop future restaurant leaders.
The ARM assumes hands-on operational duties, training employees daily, responding effectively to customer service challenges, and role-modeling appropriate behavior and skills. Financial responsibilities include shift-to-shift control to maintain profit margins, developing store CAPEX requests, analyzing sales and labor data, and engaging with vendors. The position also holds accountability in HR activities such as recruitment, performance management, compensation matters, and employee relations up to termination. A critical aspect of this role is the leadership and mentorship of subordinates, ensuring they are equipped with skills and certifications to progress towards higher responsibilities like the RGM role.
Candidates for this position should exhibit strong leadership qualities, outstanding customer service skills, business acumen, and hands-on experience in food service or retail management. There is a clear expectation for promotability to the RGM position within 18 months, supported by ongoing training and coaching. Those not showing progress within the first year according to the Individual Development Plan may face demotion or termination.
Additional incentives for this position include the accrual of PTO every pay period, eligibility for short-term and long-term disability insurance, medical, dental, and life insurance enrollment options, 401k retirement plans, and potential annual bonuses ranging from $7,280 to $9,500. These benefits underscore the company’s commitment to employee well-being and career development.
Working in this role involves a balance of strategic financial oversight, operational management, and inspirational team leadership. The ARM plays a vital role in establishing and maintaining restaurant standards and creating a successful, efficient, and enjoyable atmosphere for both customers and employees. The focus on continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and employee growth makes this position both challenging and rewarding, offering a pathway to future management opportunities in a well-regarded hospitality company.
