Job Description

The hiring establishment is a well-regarded restaurant operating under a structured management system that emphasizes customer service excellence, operational efficiency, and financial accountability. This restaurant is committed to maintaining high standards in product quality, food safety, and facility cleanliness, creating a welcoming environment for guests and employees alike. Its organizational hierarchy includes a Restaurant General Manager (RGM), an Associate Restaurant Manager (ARM), Assistant General Managers (AGMs), Shift Managers, and Team Members, all working collaboratively to meet and exceed restaurant performance targets. The company values professional growth and promotes internal career advancement, especially encouraging mid-level management to develop into future General Managers.

The position of Associate Restaurant Manager (ARM) plays a critical assistant role to the Restaurant General Manager. This role involves providing additional management coverage throughout operating hours and directly supervising restaurant operations. The ARM is primarily focused on driving excellence in customer service, ensuring adherence to company standards in product and facility specifications, maintaining food handling procedures, and exercising financial control at the shift level to meet profit margin targets. This role also includes taking full responsibility for specific financial controls, crew training, and screening of potential employees under the RGM’s direction.

The ARM is expected to be hands-on with operational duties while continuously training and supporting employees. A successful ARM consistently models appropriate skills and behaviors, actively responds to customer service needs, and drives the achievement of restaurant goals. Career progression is a key aspect, as the ARM is considered promotable to the General Manager position within a year and a half, contingent upon demonstrated leadership development and completion of an Individual Development Plan. ARM candidates who do not make sufficient progress towards this plan within the first year may face demotion or termination.

Responsibilities span multiple domains including customer satisfaction, product quality, financial performance, operations, human resources, and overall restaurant success measures. The ARM is charged with maintaining fast, accurate service and positive guest relations while ensuring product consistency with company quality standards. They lead the customer-focused culture by resolving complaints and training teams accordingly.

From a financial perspective, the ARM develops and supports the restaurant’s annual operating plan, analyzes sales, labor, and inventory data, takes corrective action to meet margins, and mentors subordinates on profitability approaches. Operational duties include ensuring the maintenance of facilities and equipment, monitoring inventory and food preparation processes, managing staff scheduling, and meeting speed with service targets.

In human resources, the ARM directs hiring, learning and development initiatives, performance management, compensation, and employee relations. They provide hands-on management training, foster a positive and compliant work environment, and oversee staffing plans. The success of the restaurant is measured by achieving operating plans, improving margins, sales growth, and staff development metrics.

The ARM role offers an attractive benefits package including paid time off accrued every pay period, enrollment in short-term and long-term disability insurance, medical, dental, life insurance, 401k plan options, and an annual bonus potential ranging from $7,280 to $9,500. This comprehensive benefits offering underlines the company’s commitment to employee well-being and long-term engagement.
